These two volcanic islands near the coast that have little vegetation on its surface, but its ecological importance lies in the variety of sea birds who find in these islands, a place of settlement and reproduction. In fact Isla de Terreros, being larger and located farther from the coast, home to the largest community of seabirds that nest in the province of Almeria.
Among them include endangered species like the "Pardela cenicienta" or "Paíño europeo". Other species are "Gaviota patiamarilla" or "Vencejo común". Its seabed are also rich. They have an extensive prairie of an exclusive Mediterranean coast is called Posidonea oceanica that provides shelter, food and reproduction of many species of fish, crustaceans, cephalopods and marine invertebrates.
Its beaches, apart from the natural wealth, have a high landscape value. Along the coast are volcanic outcrops that contrast with the sand and blue sea. Walking along the coast you can see the old "Cocederos de esparto", a profession already in use, with their houses, called "Terreros", carved into the walls of the cliffs. Finally, other places to visit are the "Castillo de la Herradura" or the "Castillo de San Juan Terreros".
