North of the province of Almeria, in the eastern Cordillera of Andalusia and in the Natural Park Sierra María-Los Vélez is located on a plateau over 1600 meters high, the Monument Sabina Albar.

Located in the town of Carboneras, east of the Parque Natural Cabo de Gata-Nijar and opposite the beach of "La Puntica", lies the "Isla de San Andres".

At the eastern end of the Betic system of the province of Almeria, within the region of Alto Almanzora, is the Sierra de Lúcar. As it rises to a height of 1722 meters peak of the same name. This is a spectacular steep-walled limestone formation that stands in the landscape, forming a so-called geographic landmark "Piedra Lobera". Its name comes from the tradition that was in this place where the last specimen of wolves that existed in these mountains was exterminated .

Located on the east coast of Almeria, on the border with the province of Murcia and opposite the town of San Juan de Terreros in Pulpí municipality, is the Natural Monument Isla de Terreros and Isla Negra.
These two volcanic islands near the coast that have little vegetation on its surface, but its ecological importance lies in the variety of sea birds who find in these islands, a place of settlement and reproduction. In fact Isla de Terreros, being larger and located farther from the coast, home to the largest community of seabirds that nest in the province of Almeria.

The "Karst en Yesos de Sorbas" is located in the east of Andalusia, in the eastern corridor subdesert Sorbas-Tabernas, the most arid area of Europe. In an apparently barren and arid landscape lies one of the most breathtaking beauty of Andalusia. It is an underground world wrought by the action of rainwater thousand on a powerful rock gypsum.

Paraje Natural and Reserve the Punta Entinas-Sabinar houses one of the best-preserved dunes of the peninsula, and offer miles of sandy beach in beautiful virgin.

The Desert of Tabernas is a Natural Area located in the municipalities of Tabernas, Gádor, Santa Cruz, Alboloduy and Gérgal in the province of Almeria, between Filabres and Alhamilla´s mountains. Its area is 11,625 hectares. He is considered the only desert area itself of the entire European continent. It was declared a Natural Area by Law 2 / 1989 of July 18, for approving the inventory of protected natural areas of Andalusia and establishing additional measures for their protection (No. BOJA.

The Natural Area Sierra Alhamilla is located in the municipalities of Almería, Lucainena for Torres, Nijar, Pechina, Rioja and Taverns of the province of Almeria. Its area amounts to 8,500 hectares. It was declared a Natural Area by Law 2 / 1989 of July 18, for approving the inventory of protected natural areas of Andalusia and establishing additional measures for their protection (No. BOJA. 60, 27/07/1989 ) is also a Special Protection Area for Birds [ZEPA (1989)], and is proposed as Sites of Community Interest (LIC).

This coastal wetland, composed mainly of two ponds, Albufera Honda y Albufera Nueva  surprised by their position in a semidesert environment and surrounded by areas of intensive cultivation in contrast to the natural values and relevance with this protected natural area .

The Isle of Alboran  is a Natural space who is an enclave in the sea and the land of outstanding ecological values that are attached to the town of Almeria. Comprising the territory of the Island of Alborán, the Isle of the cloud and the waters and seabed around it, with an area of 26,457 hectares. Geographically it is located halfway between the Spanish and African coasts, where waters of different characteristics, allowing the existence of a high biological diversity and productivity, with an area of the most diverse of the Mediterranean.
